– Ensuring Accurate Address and ONT Documentation

Address Management Hardware Connections

Business Engine Address Management & Hardware Connections – Validated Address and ONT Database

In the early stages of your fiber project, such as the initial survey phase, reliable address data may not always be readily available. With COS Business Engine, this isn’t a problem. Its advanced tools can help locate addresses and progressively clean up address data over time. As customer connections are established, it’s essential to accurately document how each address is linked to network hardware for seamless service provisioning, and COS Business Engine Automation ensures this data remains up-to-date.

COS Business Engine – Google Maps Integration

Getting started with the COS Business Engine is simple, even for demand aggregation tasks. Define the target area and the services you want to assess interest for, and you’re ready to go. The first step for the customer is to find their location using an address search. Thanks to the integration with Google Maps, one of the most accurate mapping databases, most users can easily find their address.

GPS and Drop-the-Pin Functionality

In cases where an address isn’t found in the Google database, COS Business Engine provides fallback options. Customers can either allow the platform to use their GPS coordinates (if they are at home) or manually drop a pin on the map to mark their location. They can then enter their address details manually. In the admin interface, these manually submitted addresses can be reviewed for accuracy, and pins can be adjusted if needed. With validated address data, the system can deliver accurate service plans to customers.

COS Business Engine – ONT Documentation

As part of the new customer installation process, one of the final steps involves installing and documenting the ONT (Optical Network Terminal). There are multiple methods to ensure the ONT documentation is validated. One option is pre-assigning ONTs during the drop staging process and documenting them within Business Engine. Installers must then enter the correct serial number to complete the installation. Alternatively, auto-provisioning functionality can identify the ONT automatically once it is connected, ensuring accurate documentation and preventing services from being activated at the wrong location.

Comprehensive Network Documentation

The network inventory functionality in COS Business Engine is highly detailed. Operators can create templates for any type of network element, down to the port level, and even document network nodes such as cabinets, huts, and central offices, complete with photos and access instructions. In fully automated networks, COS Business Engine often serves as a real-time representation of the live network, continuously synced with the hardware vendor’s element management system through APIs. This guarantees up-to-date accuracy and efficient network operations.
