Installation workflow engine

Building with control and reliable data

The Installation Workflow Engine within the COS Business Engine is designed to streamline the installation process for fiber networks. It supports various customizable workflows for tasks like customer installations, ONT setups, and network troubleshooting.

Here’s a breakdown of how it works:

  1. Customizable Work Orders: Operators can create detailed work orders with sub-tasks tailored to the specific needs of installations or troubleshooting. These work orders guide technicians through the process, ensuring that each step is logged and documented.
  2. Field Technician Portal: Technicians use a mobile interface to access real-time work instructions, mark tasks as completed, and upload documentation such as photos or notes. This portal allows for seamless progress tracking during the installation process.
  3. Automated Provisioning: Once a service (e.g., internet or IPTV) is purchased through the customer’s self-service portal, the COS Business Engine automatically provisions the service, ensuring it is ready for use immediately after installation.
  4. Real-Time Diagnostics: During installation, diagnostic data such as ONT status, signal levels, and speed tests are automatically collected. These diagnostics help troubleshoot both at the time of installation and later when resolving customer issues.
  5. Scheduling and Planning: Work orders are scheduled to ensure efficient resource allocation. The system also integrates with the network management system (EMS), enabling automatic updates and synchronization across network elements and provisioning tasks.

This engine helps to reduce manual intervention, minimize errors, and improve efficiency, ensuring smoother and faster deployments.
