Seamless ONT Auto-Provisioning with COS Business Engine and Nokia Altiplano

At COS Systems, we’re committed to simplifying and automating broadband network operations. In our latest video demonstration, Spencer walks through how our COS Business Engine integrates with Nokia’s Altiplano platform to support fully automated provisioning of ONTs (Optical Network Terminals) — dramatically reducing time, manual input, and operational errors.

The demo begins with an order in COS Business Engine that’s awaiting activation. There is no ONT installed yet, and the service is pending deployment. Through the installer portal, field technicians can easily select the correct work order, scan or manually input the ONT, and initiate installation.

Once the ONT is connected, COS Business Engine and Altiplano automatically recognize the device, apply the service template, and initiate the provisioning process. The system fetches technical data from Altiplano in real-time, displays ONT status, and confirms that the correct service profile (in this case, 100/100 Mbps) has been applied.

The process includes:

  • Detecting the ONT and syncing it across systems
  • Verifying the ONT intent and active service
  • Applying the correct service template
  • Activating the connection
  • Supporting future service changes or termination directly from the platform

With this integration, service providers benefit from faster installations, fewer manual touchpoints, and scalable automation — enabling them to deliver a better experience to their customers.
