COS has given us the tools to understand the needs of our community. Using the demand aggregation tools we were able to map where broadband services were needed and determine if they wanted us to provide those services.

We evaluated several systems before deciding on COS, and we had even experienced other systems while operating as just an ISP on other Open Access networks.
One of the key things I wanted as someone responsible for the network was to empower the ISPs. I wanted to treat these ISPs as if subscribers were truly their customers, without acting as a gatekeeper or creating obstacles between them and their customers. COS has really enabled us to do that.
With COS, ISPs can manage their customers independently — whether they choose to use their own systems via an API or the automatically created portal. It provides them with the ability to handle many functions without needing to call us, such as resetting or verifying connections.
I want to highlight that COS is a unique system. There are operator systems out there that allow you to run networks, but COS is the only one I know of that truly integrates into an Open Access network the way it does. It allows multiple service providers to integrate seamlessly with a network owner and customers, all within one ecosystem.
This integration simplifies keeping things organized and ensures everyone is working from a single, unified data set—which is invaluable. Most professionals understand what it’s like to spend half a day chasing down a piece of information, and COS has eliminated that for us, which we’re incredibly grateful for.
